Fear and Loathing (in Moscow?)

Yesterday, i saw "Fear and Loathing in las Vegas" on DVD. It turned out to be a better film than I expected; but the drug-loaded characters are somehow not symphatetic after the scenes they start belching and puking on the hotel room floors...anyway Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro got a way with acting...

It also added a superb quote in my library:

"...There was no point in fighting -- on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark -- the place where the wave finally broke and rolled back..."

So maybe we are riding on "high and beautiful waves" now..it would be really painful to look back and see our high-water marks. Maybe that is why ageing is so bad...

Drugs and rock'n'roll!
