What is Turkish Invasion?

Turkish Invasion was created when Dinc was pretty bored with a lot of email questions when he moved to Moscow. He decided to post the answers to his silly friends' weird questions like "Are Russian girls really beautiful?" or "Do they really drink so much vodka?"

The Moscow experience combined with Dinc's burning desire to share his experiences that many standart frugal expat-types cannot and would not ever dare to live, changed the direction of this blog. With respectively massive following and comments, the blog is now a journal of Dinc through his routine journeys to Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

Who is Dinc?

He is a full-fledged Industrial Engineer, intrepid culinary adventurer, guerrilla cooking expert, a devoted electronic music fan, full-time overworking and traveling outsourcing technology salesman with a background of FMCG in distant corners of civilization, part-time gonzo journalist (writing about Moscow, Russia, Ukraine and post-Soviet realm in English language publications in web and print) and a man of non-mystery in particular.

He was born in Turkey in the dawn of 1980s, a proud METU - TED alumni (now a MBA candidate in BU) and was a free-willing expat for roughly 2,5 years in Moscow, the capital of the evil empire and in voluntary slavery of global capitalism.

Now he is commuting between post-Soviet Union and Turkey and still gathering shocking experiences.

But..why "Turkish Invasion" ?

The name "Turkish Invasion" started by an idea of a very good friend and a mentor of Dinc, His Majesty Cagri Gogus, the acting emperor of the Turks in Post-Soviet Union. He used that expression about the Moscowite clubs infested with Turkish guys.

This web blog is about Dinc and his Turkish allies in Russia and Ukraine and CIS. They believe that they have invaded Russia but with all other past invaders, they were eventually consumed by it.
